Simple and natural: a modern organic interior

All you need to know about the increasingly popular organic interior design is that it blurs the lines between man-made buildings and the natural environment. In other words, taking cues from nature, this style emphasizes minimalism and harmony between man-made elements and the natural world.

For example, organic furniture design trends promote natural forms and minimalist materials such as wood and glass. The style is characterized by clean lines, a neutral color palette, and surfaces that are mostly devoid of grandiosity and excessive decorations.

Organic style is the main characteristic of modern interior design and architecture in the middle of the last century. Organic style interiors contain furniture and elements that adhere to the design principle that form follows function - meaning that objects and features should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, with one aspect always seconding the other and vice versa.

The organic design avoids excessive decorations, i.e. replaces them with clean lines and natural textures and motifs inspired by nature. A good example of this would be a coffee table that emphasizes the natural wood pattern. A modern living room, dining room, or other rooms that have opted for an organic look can boast unobtrusive home decor and furniture with straight and simple lines.

To complement their natural surroundings, modern organic homes often feature a neutral color palette, such as white walls and solid-colored rugs that reflect earth and wood tones. Therefore, the emphasis is on the use of natural materials wherever possible, and most often it is wood, rattan, or jute, which are further combined with concrete, glass, steel, or cast iron.

Finally, let's mention that organic design aims to suggest wide open spaces and bring natural elements inside. Organically modern homes therefore typically have open floor plans and large, spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces to enhance the sense of freedom for everyone residing in the home.
