The reason why Kate Middleton rarely has her nails painted in public is actually quite logical
One single shade of nail polish is possible, and that is the light pink nude shade that the Queen herself has been wearing since 1989.
Have you ever noticed how Duchess Kate Middleton rarely has her nails painted in public? Probably not, but from now on you will always notice. Since she has become a part of the British royal family, just like all the other members, she has to abide by their sometimes quite strict rules.
Namely, in public, since it is considered inappropriate, she rarely wears nail polish, and almost never (there was only one exception) the nail polish of vibrant colors.

Any colorful nails and with any motifs are not according to royal rules and in fact, this is the only reason (and actually enough reason) why Kate, even when she decides to wear painted nails in public, usually wears clear nail polish or some more 'delicate' shades such as baby pink or nude.

One shade of nail polish (which she is allowed to wear) Kate especially adores, and that is the bright pink nude shade that Queen Elizabeth II herself has worn since 1989. (And who else would be a better role model for her now that she is part of the royal family than the queen herself.)
