The cult 90s animated series is back
Mike Judge will once again lend his voice to the characters
In the previous days, we had a handful of interesting pop-culture announcements from the San Diego Comic-Con, so you might have missed the fact that the cult duo from the nineties - Beavis and Butt-Head - is returning to the small screen.
Mike Judge's famous animated series from the 90s returns with new episodes in August, and the first trailer has been released. To recall, the series Beavis and Butt-Head was created in 1992 for MTV and aired in more than 200 episodes during seven seasons, and then in 2011, it received another season. Meanwhile, it also inspired the spinoff Daria and had an immense impact on pop culture.
Beavis and Butt-Head are two teenagers who don't have much energy or motivation to do anything in life except listen to heavy metal and see allusions to sex in everything, while they are 100 percent unsuccessful in any interactions with female persons. It's all much crazier and more incredible than can be described, filled with a bunch of tricks that the author himself considers stupid, but which have bought many people and gained cult status.
In case you didn't know, Beavis and Butt-Head recently returned in Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, which saw the titular duo travel from 1998, the year the original series ended, to 2022. It's the second film featuring the characters, after the famous Beavis and Butt-Head Do America from 1996. In the new series, they will make fun of modern culture and habits, so we can expect many more crazy situations and many references.
Mike Judge will once again lend his voice to the characters, and will also serve as one of the executive producers. The series will premiere on August 4 on the Paramount+ service, where you can also watch the new movie, and it was announced that remastered versions of all old episodes will be released, but the date when they will be available is not yet known.
