The first trailer for the animated "Garfield" is out!

The popular Garfield, lasagna fan and Monday hater, which most of us can easily identify with, is coming to cinemas next year in an animated version.

The first trailer arrived and we can see the new outfit of this comic hero after the feature-animated films "Garfield" (2004) and "Garfield: A Tale of Two Cats" (2006), in which the cat was originally voiced by Bill Murray, known for series "Ghostbusters" and "Zombieland". This animated film is a sort of reboot of the entire franchise, and judging by the fun and sweet trailer – the new Garfield will be a real hit among children and families.

The first trailer of the film shows how Jon adopted Garfield from the street and what Garfield turned into after he discovered food, a home and his loyal dog friend Odie. After his wonderful, easy, and full life with Jon and Odie, everything will be completely changed by the arrival of Garfield's father Vic, so Garfield will have to go on an adventure that will teach him something unexpected.

The screenplay is written by the award-winning David Reynolds ("Finding Nemo"; "Toy Story"), and the director's baton is held by Mark Dindal (the cartoon musical "Cats Don't Dance" and the animated film "The Yellow Minute"/"Chicken Little ").

In the original, the voices are given by Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Hannah Waddingham.

The animation for the film was done by DNEG Animation studio, an acclaimed studio for special effects and computer animation with a masterful portfolio - seven Oscars (films "Inception", "Interstellar", "Ex Machina", "Blade Runner 2049", "First Man", " Tenet" and "Dine"), BAFTA awards ("Inception", "Interstellar", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2"), Emmy awards (series "Chernobyl", "Star Trek: Discovery"), and they also worked on this year's cinema hits like "Oppenheimer", "Fast and Furious 10", "Scream 6" and the upcoming films "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" and "Dune - second part".

The animated Garfield is coming to cinemas in May 2024, and by then you'll surely have time to prepare lasagna just the way this little guy likes it and introduce your little ones to the new, yet iconic movie hero. We can't wait!
