The first trailer for the movie "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" is out!

Sony Pictures released the first teaser trailer for the new sequel to the popular Ghostbusters franchise, or Ghostbusters, titled "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire". After the first film from 1984 became a global sensation and cultural phenomenon, a few years later the second one arrived. But, to be sincere many fans loved it even more than the first one. 

The franchise was revived in 2016 with a film that was well received by critics, but not by the general public, primarily due to the introduction of new main characters. That problem was solved to some extent by the last sequel from 2021, in which Trevor, the grandson of the iconic Egon Spengler, continues the story. The continuation of this story will arrive next year, and what awaits us then, or at least the first glimpses of it, can be discovered in the newly released trailer.

What awaits us in the new movie?

The Spengler family returns to where it all began - the iconic New York firehouse - to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a super-secret research lab to take exorcism to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters, new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from another Ice Age.

Frozen Empire is the sequel to the fantastic comedy "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" from 2021, and follows the Spengler family, who decide to leave their farm in Oklahoma and return to New York, the place where the entire series began.

The director of the sequel is Gil Kenan (Monster House, A Boy Called Christmas), who also worked as a screenwriter and producer on the previous sequel. Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) return in the main roles. The original cast from the first two films also returns! Bill Murray (Zombieland 1 and 2), Dan Aykroyd (Pearl Harbor) and Ernie Hudson (Oz), and Patton Oswalt (The Sandman) and Kumal Nanjiani (Eternals) appear in new roles.

The film arrives in theaters on March 29, 2024 .
