Vivo X80 Pro: With Zeiss camera technology

Oppo, Realme, Oneplus, and Vivo are all part of the Chinese BBK Group. All Middle Kingdom smartphone manufacturers have recently struggled with low sales figures as a result of lockdowns in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Vivo is now entering the high-end segment for the first time. The Chinese firm collaborated with the German business Carl Zeiss to build the smartphone's camera.

At the back, there are four camera lenses, with the main camera from Samsung offering 50 megapixels. There is also a Sony super wide-angle lens with a 114-degree viewing angle and 48 megapixels, as well as a Sony double telephoto lens with 12 megapixels and a Sony fivefold telephoto lens with eight megapixels. Natural color reproduction and unique bokeh filters are handled by the Vivo V1+ image processing hardware and Zeiss software.

According to Vivo, the portrait camera also includes gimbal stabilization. The front-facing camera is 32 megapixels. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in general delivers propulsion, which is supported by 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM. The content is shown on a curved Samsung OLED touchscreen with extended sides. Schott Glass protects the screen from scratches, and it measures 6.78 inches with a resolution of 3,200 x 1.

The Vivo X80 Pro enables rapid charging, which is standard for a high-end device from the BBK Group. The accompanying power supply unit can charge the 4,700 mAh battery at up to 80 watts, with an AI monitoring the temperatures. After all, such rapid charging accelerates the aging process of the battery. You can also charge the Vivo X80 Pro wirelessly with up to 50 watts if you like.

Over the next three years, Vivo promises three new Android versions and security updates for the X80 Pro. The Oneplus brand, which is part of the same corporation, assures updated Android versions for only two years. The Vivo X80 Pro, which weighs 219 grams, will be available for purchase in July for roughly $1,300. As an example: Samsung costs roughly $1,200 for its current top model, the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a 6.8-inch display, and guarantees new Android versions through 2026, as well as monthly security fixes through 2027.
