Simon Pegg opens up about Tom Cruise
This is the first time anyone has spoken of what Tom is like on set.
Simon Pegg gave an interview to ‘The Times’ on Saturday in which he described how Tom Cruise establishes his authority on filming. Pegg knows this well because he has starred with Cruise in four parts of the "Mission Impossible" franchise, and will play in the next two.
“If something goes wrong because of his mistake, he will categorically deny it. And if someone corrects him, instead of apologizing, he just says "Yeah" and winks at me” - said Pegg and added: “I once admitted that I screwed up, and he said: ‘Simon, don't do that.’ He establishes his authority by not allowing anyone to blame him for anything” - said the famous actor.

It didn't take long for his claim to go viral, which is not surprising, because Tom Cruise hides his private and business life, he rarely gives interviews, so this is the first time that someone has publicly said what he really is like on filming. Given that his statement raised a lot of dust, Pegg decided to record a short video that he posted on Twitter, saying that it was a joke and that it should not be taken literally.
He also reacted on Instagram to an article published in The Guardian entitled "Did Simon Pegg Reveal Tom Cruise's Darkest Secret?”. Along with the photo of the text, he wrote: "Oh fuuuuuu*k off!!!" Pegg is playing with Cruise in the new sequel to "Mission Impossible" called "Dead Reckoning Part One", which will start airing on June 14, 2023. This will be followed by the sequel to "Dead Reckoning Part Two", which is expected in cinemas on June 28, 2024.
