Actress Mischa Barton was an example of a real Hollywood sweetie who was launched to stellar heights by her role in the cult teen series ‘The OC’.
Although she has appeared in the series 'I Believe in Love' and 'Sixth Sense' before, she has become popular as Marissa Cooper. Mischa revealed that the killing of her character began to be talked about when Rachel Bilson became a regular actress in the series, but also that she encountered awkward situations on set. “ There was some kind of harassment by the men on the set, but you know, I loved the series and I had to raise my walls and find a way to deal with it as well as with the fame that was suddenly‘ thrown ’to me,” she said.
After the popular series, none of the projects in which she appeared were good enough. Mischa was arrested in 2007 when police found marijuana and alcohol in her blood, more than allowed. Still, we all remember the photo of her mental breakdown in front of neighbors which is why she ended up in a psychiatric facility in January 2017.
Namely, the neighbors noticed that, dressed only in a shirt, she was hanging on the yard fence and shouting that her mother was a witch , and she also mentioned the end of the world. Neighbors called police over a possible overdose, and they took Mischa to the hospital. The actress was also hospitalized in 2009, and doctors tried to find out if Mischa was suffering from a mental disorder that caused her pain.
But we all remember the 2015 drama when she sued her mother Patricia Queen for allegedly stealing money. Still, they resolved their misunderstandings quickly. As expected, her long-standing alcohol addiction has left a mark, and she ended up in hospital once because she mixed it with pills.
Today, the actress is 36 years old, she has 500,000 followers on Instagram, and many would not say that she is a former teen star.
