In the end, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton took care of one of the most dramatic endings in history. Verstappen thus became the 34th world champion in the last round.
Max was born in Belgium and he arrived in Formula 1 at the age of 17 as the youngest competitor. Interestingly, his dad also drove a Formula 1, and his mom competed in karting. Although he was born and raised in Belgium, he decided to perform under the Dutch flag, because he "felt more like a Dutchman" on his father's side. Because of his love of driving and competitions, Max had to miss school a lot, but he had the absolute support of his father, who as Max said taught him to drive 'intelligently'. In time, he also got a private tutor.
As for his love life, he is known as a seducer. Still, he is currently in a happy relationship with Brazilian model and columnist Kelly Piquet, the daughter of Formula 1 legend and three-time champion, Nelson Piquet. She celebrated her 33rd birthday these days, and the couple confirmed their relationship last year.
Kelly used to love Max's colleague Daniil Kvyat. They have a daughter, and Max is great in the role of a stepfather. Kelly publicly calls the driver ‘the love of my life’.
