The series attracted us all because it is full of perfect costumes and reminds us of the modern version of one of Jane Austen's novels, where everything is filled with drama and scandals from high society.
We can look at “Bridgerton” as a combination of “Little Women” and “Gossip Girl”, which doesn't sound bad at all. When you start watching the second season, you will see that the cast has changed a bit, because in the center of attention is a new character played by Simone Ashley, an actress who delighted us all.
Ashley plays a charismatic girl, Kate Sharma, who is a new love interest to the character we already know well - Viscount Anthony Bridgerton. This role is certainly one of those for which the actress will be remembered because her heroine is such that you will either fall in love with her or make her nervous; anyway - you won't forget it.
Before she got into acting, Simone Ashley enjoyed singing and playing piano lessons, but, unlike her parents, she didn’t follow in those footsteps. She experienced her big break after her role in the "Sex Education" series, which is one of the most-watched on Netflix. After this role, another great teen drama project followed, except that Bridgerton will not be watched by teenagers, but by all generations.
Early last year, the news that Simone Ashley will star in the new season of the "Bridgerton" series resonated on Twitter - to the delight of the public. There was even a writer, Julia Quinn, who wrote the books on which the series is based, saying that she could not be happier, because Simone Ashley looks exactly as she imagined it.
In one of the interviews, Ashley stated that she started acting after watching all of Quentin Tarantino’s films. During her studies at ArtsED, she worked on projects that inspired her to try out in front of the camera.
The Bridgerton series has greatly changed her personal style. This was her first project where the whole team spent a lot of time choosing costumes. Until the role of Kate Sharma, Simone did not wear corsets, nor did many of us, because it was this series of corsets that brought her back into fashion.
After wearing the corset for several hours, the actress said that all she wanted was to take off the corset. Overnight she had the feeling that she had become part of another period in which she could never imagine herself.
Prior to her roles in the "Sex Education" and "Bridgerton series", which definitely put her on the map of young actresses we want to watch more often, Ashley was part of the cult BBC series "Broadchurch". If you are a fan of good thriller series that will keep you on the edge of your chair all the time - then you must watch this series. The cast is amazing, from Olivia Coleman to two Dr. Whoa - David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker - to young Simone Ashley - everyone will delight you.
