Diablo IV: More than 150 dungeons and 5 regions
Diablo IV will be an eternal game, and we discussed the mechanics that Blizzard would use to achieve this goal. In this regard, we noticed that the new paragon model would play a significant role and would be fully revamped in this latest iteration of the franchise.
Diablo IV not only intends to be "everlasting," but it is also establishing itself as one of the most popular games in its category. According to the most recent information released by Blizzard, Diablo IV will feature over 150 dungeons that the player will be able to freely explore.
These dungeons will not always be the same; they will change with each new route we take thanks to the game's procedural generation mechanism, so if we chose to focus on "farming" a dungeon, the process will be less tedious.
Each dungeon will also have unique conditions that will have a significant impact on the player, such as its own weather conditions, which will also be completely dynamic, as well as its lighting effects and other exclusive elements of each dungeon that we can activate and use in specific situations.
Chris Ryder, the director of Diablo IV, stated:
"In comparison to prior games, we approached the construction of Diablo IV's surroundings with a darker, more grounded interpretation." The "old masters" pillar provides a lens through which we might view art by analyzing the techniques utilized by classical painters such as Rembrandt, with their regulated use of detail. The 'return to dark' pillar runs throughout the game, from dungeons to lighting, and represents the sense that Sanctuary is a dark and frightening medieval gothic world."
Rembrandt was a great master of chiaroscuro, a painting style that uses stark contrasts between volumes, some lighted and others dark, to more effectively highlight particular components of the scene. It enabled the creation of a relief impression in paintings, and it had an intriguing progression in the Baroque with Caravaggio, leading to what was known as "tenebrism," which considerably emphasized the contrast between lights and shadows.
These are two questions we've been asking ourselves since the game's formal introduction, and we don't have an answer because Blizzard hasn't given a pledge yet. However, it is evident that they are taking the creation of this game seriously, and hence it could be a couple of years away.
The criteria have not yet been confirmed, but we believe they will be around the level of the estimate that we provided you in this post a few years ago, for this reason.
The Diablo IV will be an intergenerational transition game, meaning it will be available on both Xbox One and PS4, as well as PC and the new generation of consoles, thus its system requirements will be those of a game that begins with the hardware foundation of the «old gen».
