‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry is celebrating his 52nd birthday.
Actor Matthew Perry became famous for his role as Chandler in the cult series ‘Friends’ which was filmed for as many as 10 seasons.
He was just 25 when he was hired for the role of Chandler Bing in ‘Friends’ and fans instantly fell in love with his character. The sarcastic Chandler, after the last season filmed in 2004, has appeared in several more hit series.
Since his first day on the Friends set, Matthew's appearance has changed dramatically over the seasons. In the first season, he looked like a baby, and already in the third season, he started to look skinny. More precisely unhealthy, which was the first sign that something was wrong with him.
In 1997, the actor completed a 28-day alcohol rehab program, after which he stated that he only went to rehab ‘so as not to drink more than he had done before’.
‘I feel better than ever in my life, but I had big problems with pills and I just didn’t know how to stop,’ he revealed to People magazine in 2013.
‘It was a long period in which I struggled with alcoholism. It started before Friends and progressed quickly, ' said the actor.
This year, the long-awaited reunion of Friends was filmed, in which the main actors recalled the best moments from the filming. Fans then noticed that Perry seemed very lost, and at times he seemed to be slow and not speak clearly and ambiguously. ‘Matthew Perry doesn’t look good, I hope he’s ok’, were just some of the comments on his looks.
