Former actress and wife of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is celebrating her 40th birthday today, and on that occasion, we also dug up some lesser-known things from her life.

MEGHAN AND HARRY ARE DISTANT RELATIVES
One researcher from the Historical Genealogical Society of New England has discovered that Meghan is a direct descendant of King Edward III of England and that she and Harry are cousins in the 17th generation. Exploring the genealogy of Harry and Meghan, Daily Mail reporters discovered that the two were actually distant relatives - connected through the ancestor of the Queen Mother from the late 15th century. Meghan’s connection to the royal family comes from the ancestor of her father Thomas Markle, an Emmy-winning cameraman. And indeed, their geological origins can be traced all the way back to an Englishman named Ralph Bowes who is Meghan’s ancestor from 15 generations ago.

My character is a chef because they know I’m a chef. I'm always looking for amazing new restaurants and new recipes, 'she said, adding that she loves experimenting with food and that she often prepares a new dish for her husband in the kitchen.
