Adele Breaks Down In Tears As She Dedicates Brit Award To Her Ex-Husband

Adele stole the show at the Brit Trophies last night, winning three awards in total. British singer marked this year's BRITS Awards, the most important annual music awards ceremony in the UK, held at London's 02 Arena.

It was the first edition of the British Annual Awards, awarded since 1977, which removed gender distinctions and replaced them with categories for Artist of the Year and International Artist of the Year, rather than previous categories, in which the best in the men's and women's categories were chosen.

Adele was back with a bang at the Brit Awards 2022, winning three awards and dedicating her last award to her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

She gave a nod to her son Angelo and his father Simon after winning the album of the year award for her comeback album 30.

"I would like to dedicate this award to my son and Simon, his dad. This album has been our whole journey, not just mine," Adele said in tears, referring to her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

Adele met Simon in 2018 after they got together back in 2011.

She then filed for divorce in 2019 and is claimed to have taken inspiration for her new music from their separation.

Adele's fourth studio album, despite just being published in November, was the best-selling album in the United Kingdom in 2021, selling over 600,000 copies in just six weeks. Adele recently said that she recorded a comeback album to help her son understand her divorce.

She said that she is proud of herself for releasing an album that is so personal to her.

Adele also won the Artist of the Year award, which now includes artists of all genders. Little Simz and Dave, Ed Sheeran, and Sam Fender were also nominated.

Other winners included the rock band Wolf Alice, which won the award for best group, while rapper Little Simz was named best new artist. Sheeran was named Songwriter of the Year.

American singers Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo won the awards for best international artist and international song for Good 4 U. The award for the best international group was won by American R&B duo Silk Sonic, consisting of singer Bruno Mars and rapper and singer Anderson.Paak.

Introducing a range of music styles, new genre awards have been introduced this year, with Sam Fender winning Best Alternative / Rock and Dave Best Hip-Hop / Grime / Rap. Singer Dua Lipa won the award for best pop / R'n'B performance, while Becky Hill won the award for best dance point.
