Amazon has taken over the famous MGM

It's been about a year since this takeover was announced, and it's finally official. MGM Film Studio has joined Amazon, and its material will now be available on Prime Video.

Amazon was rumored to be acquiring the MGM film studio as early as May of last year. The previously announced merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery is currently being completed in a major shift on the US media scene, and the job of integrating MGM with Amazon was concluded this week. Bezos spent $ 8.5 billion for the film studio and its content inventory, which he would fully incorporate into Amazon Studios.

Amazon Prime Video's streaming service will now include over 4,000 movie titles and over 17,000 episodes of various television series. James Bond, The Hobbit, RoboCop, The Maid's Tale, Rocky / Creed, The Harvard Blonde, The Voice, Survivor, Pink Panther, Fargo, Stargate… are just a few of MGM's well-known films. Over the past century, they have received 100 accolades for their accomplishments. Emmy and 180 Oscar nominations.

The corporations have stated that they will collaborate to generate new content. The European Commission also gave its approval to the deal.

MGM was created in 1924 and was widely known as Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures by the lion insignia that appeared at the beginning of its films and programs for nearly a century.

American International Pictures, Orion Pictures, Epix Entertainment, and United Artists are currently involved in the research.

Amazon Luna debuts in the US with free games

The streaming game service Amazon Luna is now open to all customers in the United States, following a lengthy trial period (from fall 2020) that was exclusively accessible by invitation.

North American citizens can now pick between multiple monthly membership plans, with the free subscription through an Amazon Prime account clearly standing out.

Although Amazon Luna is similar to Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, or any other cloud gaming platform in that it bases its service on streaming games from high-end servers, allowing us to play without relying on our hardware, there is one significant distinction in its subscription structure.

Stadia, on the other hand, has a free tier with basic service and a premium subscription with additional capabilities such as 4K. Both have access to a library of free games that rotate periodically.

There is also a greater selection of games available for purchase, much like on Steam or any other digital store. Purchased games can be streamed at any time by the subscription.

Amazon Luna, for its part, offers a range of smaller libraries known as "channels," each with a different membership pricing, with the goal of allowing consumers to "create" their own on-demand service based on their preferences and needs.

While its free subscription offers only a tiny variety of games compared to the other subscription options, it is only available for a limited time, limiting access to games to small availability windows of around a couple of weeks.
