Mercedes-Benz GLC - Scheduled for June 1

Sales are set to commence in September of this year. And they say we can expect an unusual technique.

According to colleagues from the German website MC Passion, which concentrates on a brand with a three-pointed star in its logo, the manufacturer is presently concluding the development of a new generation of the GLC model, which is set to debut on June 1 this year. And it will almost certainly contain a slew of intriguing news.

The new generation of GLC, for example, should be longer - the old generation measured around 4.65 meters, while the new generation should reach 4.72 meters.

The body extension should be linked to a 15-mm increase in wheelbase and a 50-liter increase in boot capacity up to 600 liters.

Despite its greater proportions, the next generation of the GLC model should provide excellent mobility, thanks to a new technology that allows the rear axle wheels to be turned by up to 4.5 degrees. The turning radius should be around 10.8 meters.

The new GLC will borrow the C-Class sedan and station wagon's technical and technological equipment, which should also apply to the cab arrangement, for example. The crew may look forward to extra space in the rear row and sophisticated entertainment, but their screens at the GLC could be a little higher.

According to MB Passion, internal combustion engines should be integrated with 48V mild-hybrid technology, which will allow the internal combustion engine to supplement a 23-hp electric motor. The offer should also include three plug-in hybrid engines, two of which are connected to gasoline engines and one to diesel engines.

Plug-in hybrid vehicles should always be equipped with 4Matic all-wheel drive, have an electrical range of roughly 100 kilometers, and be capable of charging at a power of up to 60 kW.

The inclusion of the diesel six-cylinder OM 656M, which we would hope for in the offer of a classic sedan and a C-Class station wagon, should be an interesting aspect of the offer. The GLC could have up to 300 horsepower, while four-cylinder petrol engines should have 204 to 258 horsepower and diesel engines should have 194 to 265 horsepower.

As previously stated, the world premiere of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC is scheduled for June 1 of this year, with the car perhaps going on sale in Europe as early as September. Furthermore, spy photographs imply that sharper versions of AMG will be released in the future.
