Angelina Jolie sold her stake in French wine estate worth $164 million: 'She did it out of vengeance'

Actress Angelina Jolie,  46, has sold her 50% stake in the Chateau Miraval estate and winery, co-owned by ex-husband Brad Pitt,  57, according to the Daily Mail. The value of the winery is estimated at $ 164 million.

Angelina sold her entire stake to Tenute del Mondo, a branch of the Stoli Group for a currently unknown price, foreign media reported.

Jolie and Pitt bought the French estate and winery in 2008 and became equal owners only in 2013. The following year, the couple got married on the estate.

Angelina’s shares are managed by her company Nouvel LLC, while Brad’s is overseen by Mondo Bongo. Because of this sale, Pitt’s company filed a lawsuit against Jolie, to recover a majority stake in the winery. Allegedly, the 10% of shares was sold in 2013 to Jolie at a 'symbolic price of one euro' and the sale should be canceled because it does not meet the 'serious amount' prescribed by law.

The actress is accused of violating Brad’s right of first refusal and of wanting to get rich based on the ‘extraordinary amount of work, time and money’ Pitt invested in the winery. The lawsuit calls these proceedings ‘systematic disruption’ and argues that Nouvel did not contribute to the winery in a sufficient way.

"Angelina's actions are consistently vindictive towards Brad," said a confidential source about the legal fights between the former spouses.

"This is just another example of how she is trying to bend the rules and avoid her responsibilities," the source concluded.

Recall, in addition to arguing over the winery and its sale, Brad and Angelina are fighting in court over custody of their five minor children  Pax (17), Zahara (16), Shiloh (14), and twins Vivienne and Knox (12). Moreover, the couple shares a son,  Maddox (20).
