Dior reveals the location of the Cruise show!

The connection between Dior and Spain, more precisely Andalusia, began in the 1950s, and from then until today, with each passing year, this connection becomes stronger. Both Mr. Dior and his successors were inspired by Spanish history and culture for their creations. In fact, in 1954, Christian Dior named one of his dresses "Nuits d'Espagne", while in 1956, one of his creations was called "Bal a Seville".

Maria Grazia Chiuri continues the tradition and connection with Spain, because, as Dior announced, the presentation of the Cruise 2023 collection will take place in Seville. The fashion show is scheduled for June 16 and will be held at the Plaza de Espana. This square is the work of architect Anibal Gonzalez, who created it in 1929. Artistic trends such as the Baroque, Renaissance, and Moorish Renaissance of Spain influenced Anibal Gonzalez to such an extent that he designed an impressive architectural gem of the country.

On the occasion of the fashion show, Maria Grazia Chiuri will collaborate and create a collection in collaboration with craftsmen and artists who know the techniques and traditions of Andalusia. One of the goals of the creative director of the house, through the travels she makes to present her collections, is to encourage tourism in every place, but also to highlight the history and culture of each country.

Shortly before the presentation of the Cruise 2023 collection, the Dior house will travel to Seoul, where it will present the pre-fall 2022 collection on April 30. Also, on May 19, the French house will present the spring pre-collection for men in Los Angeles for the first time.

The history of Dior is connected with the life of its founder, fashion designer Christian Dior, after whom it is named. Christian Dior was a French designer, born in 1905 in Granville, a small town off the north coast of France. His origins are not connected with fashion in any way, since his father was a successful entrepreneur, but that did not stop him from later developing his interest in the ultimate fashion capital - Paris.

His family moved to Paris when he was still young, so he spent his youth there wanting to become an architect, due to his great interest in art. However, this wish was not destined to come true, due to his father's pressure to enroll in the École des Sciences Politiques (Faculty of Political Science) and become a student of political science.
