Gran Turismo 7: Racing game FINALLY playable

Gran Turismo 7 update 1.07 has recently been published. However, not everything went as planned, which is why Polyphony Digital's developers had to postpone the impending maintenance work.

The racing game has now been inaccessible for more than 24 hours, and neither the developers nor the players have responded.

A major letdown for Gran Turismo 7 players: Polyphony Digital's developers just released a new update for the racing game. Patch 1.07 included a new broadcast mode and bug fixes, among other things.

However, when the update was carried out, an error was discovered. The forthcoming maintenance work has to be postponed, as the developers announced.

"We will extend the period of server maintenance due to a bug with version 1.07," the devs wrote on Twitter yesterday. "We will advise everyone as soon as feasible about the projected completion date. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we try to rectify the problem." That was Polyphony Digital's final message, which was sent just over 21 hours ago. Polyphony Digital's servers have been unavailable for more than 24 hours.

Gran Turismo 7 requires an active internet connection for all modes, including the campaign. As a result, players will have limited access to the game during the maintenance period. The sole exception, according to the Play3 colleagues, is the arcade mode, in which neither cars nor in-game currency credits can be acquired.

The developers hope that the constant online urge will deter potential cheaters. Furthermore, in the future, players should be able to show off their fleets to one another.

Update 1.08 for Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 update 1.08 has now been released by Sony and Polyphony. According to sources, the patch is just about 300 MB in size and downloads rapidly, but installation can take up to 20 minutes, and the Playstation racing game will still be unavailable after that.

Gran Turismo 7 is up

Polyphony describes how the drama came to be in a statement.

"We noticed an issue just prior to the release of update 1.07 in which the game would not launch properly in some situations on the PS4 and PS5 product versions. Even though it was a rare issue that was not identified during development hardware testing, it nonetheless occurred during pre-release QA meetings.

However, in order to emphasize the security of customers' saved data, we have chosen to stop the release of update 1.07 and develop a corrected update 1.08. This is the cause of the delay. We truly regret the delay in informing everyone."
