The bizarre news about the alleged death of the singer started circulating on the Internet a few years ago when claims were made that Avril took her own life 18 years ago and that her clone Melissa has been appearing in public since 2003.
As it was reported by various media, she could not bear the burden of fame, and just before her death, she met a girl who irresistibly reminded her of her and set the arrangement with her.
