LC-Power accessories: First aid for laptop

Modern laptops have better batteries, smaller dimensions, and higher performance, but they have sacrificed the number of available ports and interior space in the process of transformation. This means that a typical business laptop will include two USB ports, an HDMI MicroSD card slot, and 256 to 512 GB of free space. But what if you require more?

If you predominantly used desktops until recently, you simply expanded the available storage space by adding HDDs or SSDs, and you rarely paid attention to the available ports because there was always plenty, frequently more than you required.

Despite their many advantages, laptops have restrictions in terms of extending memory capacity, port availability, cooling system, screen size, and other factors.

What to do with the growing collection of series and movies, holiday photos, music, and videos is the question. Even if you wish to upgrade your keyboard or mouse, the dilemma is where to plug in your USB flash drive when you need to transmit data.

The two LC-Power items we received are intended to address the most serious issues with laptops: warmth, more connectors, and storage capacity.

The LC-35U3-RAID2 is an external drawer that houses two 3.5" SATA hard drives and connects to a computer via a rapid USB 3.2 connection. The drawer controller also offers RAID functionality, therefore RAID 0 and 1 (stripe and mirror) configurations are available if you desire data speed or security.

The aluminum housing features a small fan on the back to keep the working temperature stable, and the power supply is provided by an external rectifier.

Switches on the back panel provide access to all controls. The first regulates the fan speed, the second the power supply, the third the system reset, and the fourth the operating modes (RAID configurations).

The connecting cord is USB A type, so it will simply connect to any computer, and we had no issues during testing, with speeds matching the 5 Gb / s specification.

The LC-HUB-C-MULTI-STAND is a unique device that links a laptop stand to a hub for up to 11 peripherals. When folded, this stand is very small and will fit easily in a bag next to your laptop. It disassembles into two components that are joined by a scissor mechanism that ensures structural integrity.

Two brackets are supported by the base, while the other two are positioned at an angle that may be modified in seven stages. These carriers include rubber feet to keep them from slipping, and the pieces that keep the laptop from tumbling off the stand are pulled out from the bottom.

Because of its simple design, the stand allows for optimal cooling and air circulation, and you can position the laptop at an angle that works best for you. The USB C connection cable is physically linked to the stand's left side, where all connections are placed.

HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, VGA, two USB 3.2 A kinds, two USB 2.0 A types, two USB C, LAN, SD card reader, and 3.5 mm audio connector is available.

The stand is composed of a combination of aluminum and plastic, with rubber feet and padding, and it comes with a convenient carrying case. The construction gives the sense of quality and longevity, and assembly and disassembly are relatively straightforward.

The main negative of this addition is that the components that stand on the underside and prevent the laptop from slipping might be irritating when typing because they are placed where your palms rest.

With these two intriguing upgrades, the only thing a laptop might want is external graphics. You took care of everything else. The stand allows for additional connections, proper cooling, and keyboard angle adjustment, allowing you to type comfortably even when you have more work than you would like.

The external drawer, on the other hand, is great for obsolete hard drives or simply boosting storage capacity, which the laptop's design does not allow. An external drawer is also a great addition to any laptop with limited internal memory.

While a hard drive case may not be necessary for every user, a stand is something that every laptop owner should think about.

You may expand all elements of laptops with additional disks and a huge number of possible connections, including monitors, keyboards, mouse, speakers, and other peripherals such as printers, creating a true compact office that you can easily construct and take with you when needed.
