Porsche Design: "Premium Soundbar" PDB90

The special product design team of the well-known vehicle brand Porsche introduces the PDB90, a new high-end soundbar.

The PDB90 from Porsche Design has a "puristic and functional design" on the outside thanks to the fabric cover and polished aluminum inlay, while inside the new "Premium Soundbar" has 16 drivers including an integrated subwoofer for "outstanding sound quality and thrilling entertainment" with rich, deep, and should provide clear sound.

The acoustic coverage area is to be enlarged by 20 degrees by the 20 degree upwards speakers in combination with 5.1.2-channel sound and Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-X, resulting in an "incomparable 3D sound experience in any room," according to the press release accompanying the announcement.

According to the manufacturer, the system includes a patent-pending, customizable soundstage design comprised of front speakers with mid-high and high-frequency speakers, known as MTMT components, which allows the system to be used in MTM mode for high-fidelity sound or in TMM mode for powerful sound and "a wider soundstage for movies."

Furthermore, the Porsche Design Soundbar PDB90 includes four preconfigured audio settings for various application circumstances, including cinema, music, voice, and stadium.

In addition to an HDMI-In connection, the device has an HDMI-eARC-Out connection, which should support the complete spectrum of accessible audio formats, with an HDMI cable and a wall mount included in the scope of delivery.

Meanwhile, control is provided by remote control or touch controls on the side. On the connecting side, the product photos show Bluetooth capability, an optical connection, a sub-out, and a USB port.

The new soundbar has an RRP of 999 dollars. It should be available immediately in Porsche Design stores, specialist shops, and select online retailers, although it is currently unavailable in the official store (only the PDB70 model for 499 dollars)
