Sony reinforces its commitment to PC gaming with INZONE

Sony is not new to the gaming world. The Japanese colossus has played a pivotal role in this sector over the last two decades with the PlayStation console, a well-known brand to which all video game enthusiasts have given, to varying degrees, a piece of their hearts.

Sony reinforces its commitment to PC gaming with INZONE

Speaking of exclusive games, these have become a key component of Sony's new strategy, as the Japanese corporation has addressed the PC world with some of the most prominent PlayStation properties, including jewels such as Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War, among others.

Sony's interest in the world of PC gaming is not limited to video games; just a few days ago, we had the chance to attend an exclusive online event where we met the INZONE family, a new generation of high-performance peripherals with which Sony hopes to become a benchmark in the industry.

Today we can finally share with you the most significant information about this happening, so sit back and relax, there's a lot to read.

One of the most crucial aspects of any video game is sound. Music has the ability to evoke emotions, immerse us in the action, and transmit distinct sensations.

Sony understands the importance of sound in video games, which is why it aims to raise the bar on PC with its INZONE Gaming headphones, a line that includes three different versions that cover what we might call mid-range, high-end, and premium high-end:

INZONE Gaming H3: Mid-range wired headset with 360-degree spatial sound for an immersive gaming experience, cushions covered by a soft layer of nylon, and a Discord-certified microphone.

INZONE Gaming H7: These are premium wireless headphones with 360-degree spatial sound, a soft nylon feel, and a Discord-certified microphone. They offer Bluetooth connectivity and a battery life of up to 40 hours per charge.

Sony's top-of-the-line model is the INZONE Gaming H9. These wireless headphones include 360-degree spatial sound and Bluetooth connectivity, but they also have a premium finish due to the use of synthetic leather on the ear cups, active noise cancellation, lighting, and a battery life of up to 32 hours with noise cancellation.

All Sony INZONE Gaming headphones are meticulously crafted and ergonomically constructed, can be used while charging the battery, and provide up to an hour of runtime with only 10 minutes of charge. This is especially helpful if we forget to charge them yet need to use them right away.

Another significant pillar in the world of video games is the image. In this sense, having a powerful graphics card is critical, because the resolution at which we can play, the technologies that we will have access to, and the quality and fluidity that our favorite games will provide will all be dependent on it. However, this can cause us to overlook a basic peripheral, the monitor.

True, the graphics card will do the heavy lifting, but it will be the monitor that displays the end product. Our user experience will suffer if our monitor has a low-quality screen, poor color space reproduction, and is incompatible with the latest technology that our graphics card contains.

Sony is aware of this, as evidenced by the new INZONE Gaming M3 and M9 monitors, which are meant to provide an excellent user experience whether used with a gaming PC as well as when coupled with a PS5.

Both are supported by the INZONE Hub software, which gives us access to a variety of useful features such as "FPS mode," which adjusts the brightness and contrast so we can see our enemies better, and the dark tone equalizer, which also improves visibility, and other features such as crosshairs and timer. It can also be used to regulate a variety of display configuration parameters.

INZONE Gaming M9: This is a high-end monitor with a 27-inch IPS-type display that provides great viewing angles at 178 degrees. It offers a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), a frame rate of 144 Hz, a latency of 1 ms from gray to gray, is DisplayHDR600 certified, is compatible with G-SYNC and VRR, contains an LED lighting system, and reproduces 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

INZONE Gaming M3: This is a less expensive version of the previous model. The 27-inch IPS panel is retained, but the resolution is 1080p (FullHD, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels). This monitor has a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, a latency of 1 ms from gray to gray, and is DisplayHDR400 certified.

It also supports an automatic KVM switch, is G-SYNC and VRR compliant reproduces 1,070 million colors and has two two-watt speakers. Its cost has not yet been determined, but we do know that it will not be accessible until the end of the year.

Both monitors are designed to take up less table space, they are adjustable in height and inclination, which translates into good ergonomics, they have a space reserved for easy cable management, and they have a variety of connectors, including two HDMI 2.1 outputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5 mm jack, a USB Type-C, a USB Type-B, and three USB Type-A.
