Spider-Man: No Way Home': Tom Holland was terrified of Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus

When next December 17 we see Spider-Man face Doctor Octopus and the rest of the spider-verse villains in ' Spider-Man: No Way Home ', we will also see Tom Holland face one of his greatest childhood fears: Alfred MolinaAs Holland explained to Empire magazine when he saw Sam Raimi's ' Spider-Man 2 ' he ended up "terrified" by the character of Otto Octavius.

"I was obsessed with [Sam] Raimi movies," says Holland, "I remember seeing Alfred in his costume for the first time, he had his glasses on and the belt, which is what his legs were attached to. And I remember being terrified of him as a child. " 17 years later and because of another Doctor, Doctor Strange, it will be the incarnation of Peter Parker who will face him instead of Tobey Maguire and on top of that, Doctor Octopus does not come alone and he is accompanied to this universe by Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and the Electro who will be played by Jamie Foxx.

"Hello, Peter"

It is seen that the casting is so good that this is not the first time that Marvel tries to sign Molina, although it is the first time that they succeeded because already in the draft of the script for ' Iron Man ' Octopus had a brief appearance when it was revealed that Tony Stark ( Robert Downey Jr. ) had been the inventor of his mechanical tentacles. The scene was never shot and was eliminated because at that time Sony and Marvel did not have the same agreement as now and the rights of the Spider-Man characters did not belong, then or now, to Disney.

Starring Holland, ZendayaMarisa Tomei, Molina, Foxx, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jon Favreau, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' will bring Marvel and Sony the multiverse when a dangerous spell cast by Strange to make the world forget Peter Parker's secret identity goes wrong and the realities start to clash.

The film opens in theaters this Christmas, on December 17.
