ALEC BALDWIN'S WIFE'S DESPERATE: 'I'm worried about his mental health, I'm just afraid of this'
The wife of actor Alec Baldwin has revealed that her husband is in poor condition and fears for his mental health.
Alec Baldwin spoke for the first time this week in front of the camera about the death of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins, whom he accidentally killed on a film set, and a video released by TMZ shows his wife Hilaria being very angry and interrupting the conversation.
Her behavior might be explained by an interview she gave to the New York Post this Saturday.
Namely, in it, she revealed why she and Alec found themselves in Vermont where a meeting with journalists took place.
‘ I didn’t know where I was going, I just drove off with my six kids. I just kept driving, 'she said, adding that she spent the whole day finding a place to hide from the public, before stopping in the ski town of Manchester, Vermont.
Hilaria says she hoped her husband would protect her from criticism after the tragedy on the set, and that she wanted to keep their children out of the reach of the media. She added that she is afraid that Alec will develop PTSD after the tragic incident.
' I brought him here because we have to mourn Halyna's death. This was very traumatic for Alec so I am trying to prevent PTSD. You know what happens to soldiers and cops when something like this happens, it’s traumatic. We came here to be in silence, 'she said.
When asked if Alec intends to act again, she replied that she hopes she will, but that she is not sure.
‘ We need space to take care of him and his mental health. It's horrible what happened. Alec feels terrible, 'claims Hilaria.
She pointed out that the Baldwin family eagerly awaits the results of the police investigation into the tragic incident on the set.
' There will be no response until we hear the results of the investigation. We don’t know what happened and we have the same questions as everyone else. We want answers more than anyone, but we have to respect the process. Alec has been making movies with weapons in them for over 40 years and nothing like this has ever happened. There should be no chance for that to happen, 'she concluded.
Alec himself addressed the press this Sunday and said that he was forbidden to give any comments while the investigation is ongoing, and asked the paparazzi to stop following them because they are scaring their children.
'I am not allowed to comment on the ongoing investigation, I was ordered to do so by the sheriff's office. An investigation is underway into the woman who died, 'Baldwin said.
The actor made no secret of the fact that he was still very shaken.
'She was my friend. When I got to the set, I took her to dinner with the director, we were a team that worked great together, and then this horrible incident happened, ' said Baldwin.
After reporters asked if Baldwin had heard from the camerawoman's family, his wife Hilaria intervened and said: 'Halyna, her name was Halyna. If you spend so much time researching this, you should know her name '.
'I met her family, her husband ... They were devastated. Various accidents happen on film sets, but something like this happens once ... He and his nine-year-old son are in shock, and we are in constant contact with them, 'said Baldwin, adding that everyone is waiting for the sheriff's office to call them. He added that he believes that new security measures should be introduced on sets where weapons are used.
'Real weapons should not be used. It is important for you to know that I am not an expert on these things, but there are people who are, and whatever they decide should be done to protect the people on the set, I should cooperate with them, 'he concluded.
