Taron Egerton Spoke to Marvel About Wolverine
Taron told the New York Times about his desire to take over from Jackman and play the main character of the X-Men franchise.
Actor Taron Egerton has revealed that he has been in talks with Marvel Studios executives about taking on the role of Wolverine previously immortalized by Hugh Jackman.
The media associated him with this role even before the pandemic, and the star of the movie "Rocketman", in which he brilliantly played Elton John, told the New York Times about his desire to take over from Jackman and play the main character of the X-Men franchise:
“I would be excited, but I would also be afraid because Hugh is so connected to the role that I would wonder if it would be very difficult for someone else to do it again. But I hope that they will give me a chance if it comes to that” - said the actor.
Egerton, who broke through with 2014's "Kingsman: The Secret Service," previously starred with Jackman in 2016's "Eddie the Eagle." The premiere of the series "Black Bird" in which he plays the main role, which was also the last television project of the recently deceased Ray Liotta, is expected soon.

Taron David Egerton was born in Birkenhead, England, he studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He made his debut in the British TV series 'Lewis' where he played a supporting role in two episodes. However, the series was canceled after a few episodes. He struggled for a while after that and took some time to find meaningful roles.
He persevered despite the odds and was eventually cast in "Kingsman: The Secret Service," an action-comedy spy film based on the "Kingsman" comic book series. The film was a critical and commercial success. He reprised his role in the sequel "Kingsman: The Golden Circle", which was again a commercial success. The actor also received criticism for his lead role in the British drama film 'Testament of Youth' which was based on the true story of a young woman who leaves her studies to become a war nurse.
