The new season of "Shadow and Bone" series arrives in March!

We got the first teaser for the second season of the Netflix fantasy series "Shadow and Bone" back in September, and now we finally know the premiere date of the upcoming season. We won't have to wait very long because the new season starts on March 16, 2023. Along with that news, Netflix also posted several new photos. The second season contains eight episodes of about an hour.

In short, the new season finds Alina and Mal on the run looking for another mythic target to help them fight the Kyrigans while they are potentially teaming up with a new ally. Crows are also prominent in the new season. They're back in Ketterdam and they're up against old rivals.

The creator, showrunner, screenwriter and executive producer of the series is Eric Heisserer. Other executive producers include Bardugo, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry, Pouya Shahbazian and Lee Toland Krieger.

“The best thing about season two is that we get to advance the story of these characters that we left in precarious positions at the end of season one. There is a lot of potential for them this season. They have to face the consequences of their actions, and then meet new people along the way. The Grishaverse also expands this season, both in mythology and characters. In doing so, we expanded the world, went to new locations, visited Novyi Zem and Shu Han, and they are an essential part of the narrative.” said Heisserer.

New faces for the second season include Patrick Gibson (The OA) as Nikolai Lantsov, a prince who develops an alter ego named Sturmhond and recruits a team of mercenaries and soldiers to help Ravka. Anna Leong Brophy (Traces) stars as Tamar Kir-Bataar, a Grisha Heartrender (body manipulation ability) who wields two axes. She is Tolya's twin sister and an LGBTQ character. There also will be Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat) as Tolya Yul-Bataar, who is described as a large and muscular mercenary among the Sturmhond team, and Jack Wolfe (The Witcher) as Wylan Hendriks, the son of a wealthy merchant sent to the criminal underworld after joining the Crows as a skilled chemist and an explosives expert.
