They used their glory and talent to spy!

When we think of the word spy, the first thing that comes to our mind is people who are able to fit into any situation and be 'invisible' while gathering invaluable information. And it is not at all unbelievable that members of the Hollywood elite would succeed in such a thing because the actors know many techniques of 'disguise', so they can fit perfectly into any situation and cope well with it. Apparently, this has been the case for decades.

For example actor Frank Sinatra is known to everyone for his charm and talent, but not for the fact that he did mafia jobs and spied for the CIA. And would you ever say that actor and director George Clooney is spying on Sudan in his spare time? And that he admitted it publicly? And that his colleague Sean Penn helped find out where one of El Chapo’s biggest drug lords is? Many of these cases have never been officially proven, but conspiracy theorists have popularized them enough that they deserve to be on our list of spy stars.

He helped capture drug lord
Sean Penn

The actor and director is one of the first celebrities to come to Ukraine to film a Russian invasion for a documentary, and he managed to do what even the rulers couldn't - he found fugitive drug lord El Chapa who escaped from prison through a tunnel in Mexico in 2015. Namely, Penn had a secret meeting with him, arranged through the Mexican friend of the actress Kate del Castillo, in his hidden mountain hideout. Penn said he wants to interview Joaquin El Chap Guzman about the war on drugs for Rolling Stone magazine. But when Mexico’s attorney general claimed it helped them finally catch this criminal, conspiracy theorists wondered if Penn was helping the CIA. He denied it.

A nice lure for hardened criminals
Angelina Jolie

As Lara Croft, she saved the world, but also stole men's hearts as a spy in the movie 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith', and it seems that Angelina Jolie added the fight against crime to her biography. Documents leaked in 2017 claim that she once offered to be a ‘bait’ to arrest African military leader Joseph Kony. She reportedly arranged with then-Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Luis Moreno Ocampo to lure Kony to dinner. Nothing has ever been confirmed, and Jolie has never made that public.

Spying and its funding
George Clooney

Although this once most desirable bachelor has always been filmed by cameras, he has focused his time on Sudan. The actor is a co-founder of the Satellite Sentinel project so he can spy on Sudan, where the government of dictator Omar al-Bashir has been accused of genocide in Darfur. Clooney himself said: 'Most of the money I earn from advertising for Nespresso is spent on maintaining satellites over the border of North and South Sudan to keep an eye on al-Bashir. I want a war criminal to have the same amount of attention as me. ' Who would say?
