Beatrice Borromeo is not a typical member of the royal family, photographers adore her
Beatrice Borromeo is a noblewoman from an Italian aristocratic family and is married to the grandson of the late Grace Kelly.
Italian beauty Beatrice Borromeo is not a typical noblewoman. Before marrying the Monegasque royal family, she worked as a journalist, actress, and presenter, and grew up in an Italian aristocratic family.
She was born in Italy and her mother is Countess Donna Paula Marzotto, while her father is Don Ferdinando Borromeo, who holds the title of Count of Arona and comes from the aristocratic Borromeo family. Their family owned the island of Borromeo in northern Italy in the 16th century, and even today most of the estates are in their hands, as is much of the land in the interior of Italy.
Beatrice grew up with her older brother Carlo Ludovico Borromeo and three half-sisters that her father had when he married German model Marion Sybil. After graduating from high school and starting college in Milan, she graduated in journalism from Columbia University. She has worked for several American media and for the Italian Il Fatto Quotidiano, and she has also worked for several well-known Italian shows. She has directed several documentaries, and between all jobs, she has worked as a model and actress.
Her love story with Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, began in 2008, and the couple stood in front of the altar in the summer of 2015. They were married in the gardens of a palace in Monaco and had a church wedding in Italy a few days later. Despite their royal roots, neither Beatrice nor Pierre have royal titles. Pierre is not a prince although he is the grandson of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier and the nephew of Prince Albert.
The couple had two children, Stefan Ercole Carlo and Francesco Carlo Albert. Four years ago, Beatrice spoke in an interview about her relationship with Pierre. "Sometimes I think about how lucky I am to have started a family with a man I completely trust and love for almost 10 years. I know this will last forever. Life in Monaco is not a plus, it's just our life now," she said then. She added that it is a real privilege to be with someone she is happy with every day.
Photographers adore her, and thanks to her impeccable style, Tatler magazine has declared her the European royal with the most style.
