Christie Brinkley just delivered her admirers a once-in-a-lifetime surprise in one of her most surprising professional choices yet. While it was entertaining while it lasted, the diva had to say goodbye to the new endeavor that would propel her to new heights.
The model reportedly disclosed that she was taking part in The Masked Singer, a show in which celebrities perform while wearing intricate animal costumes, and the audience must identify who is behind the mask.
Christie was eliminated during Wednesday's episode and is now waving farewell to the show.
The competitor wrote a touching homage to the show, describing how much fun she had and how much of an honor it was to be a part of it.
Her Instagram debut began with an adorable mirror selfie of her still dressed as a purple lemur, her toned legs dressed in bedazzled leggings, and an eight-and-a-half-foot feather tail attached to her, which she admitted was one of the things that made it difficult for her to give the best performance possible.
Her first post was captioned: "And the Lemur in question is... drum roll please... moi! Please accept my apologies to Carol King for attempting to sing her song, I Feel Earth Move, which is difficult to do with an 81/2 foot tail."
Her daughter Alexa Ray Joel, whom she had with ex-husband Billy Joel, backed her mother with a heartfelt statement after her elimination: "They stated you were the "cutest one on the program," which is so true! It's also the sweetest."
The most startling thing wasn't even her unveiling. She recounted the extreme efforts she went to merely to participate in the following post on her performance, stating that she was suffering from food illness while performing. Despite being eliminated, she was able to achieve an astounding milestone by performing with the largest tail in Masked Singer history!
"You were wonderful," "Only a #supermodel could work that tail," as well as "You are SO courageous, excellent singing!!!" were among the comments left in the comment box by fans and celebs.
The mother of three ended her homage by saying: "Thank you, Masked Singer, for the chance, and thank you, all of my darlings! You've been a fantastic group! I adore you all, but I have to hurry to catch my trip back to Madagascar! Darlings, Muah!"
