Clint Eastwood's healthy habits for happy life

Clint Eastwood is one of the most impressive actors in Hollywood. Not only has he acted in films since 1955, but he still delights audiences, even at the age of 92. Taking all this into account, people often ask themselves - how does he manage to stay healthy and energetic for so long?

Eastwood has always known a lot about maintaining body shape. He lifted weights at the age of 19, and decades later he kept his regular exercise routine. Although good eating habits helped him maintain his health until today, these are quite restrictive rules and they are certainly not for everyone.

He focuses on controlling his body fat

"Eastwood's body fat is less than 10 percent," said Dr. Harry Demopoulos, his doctor. Eastwood himself commented, saying: "I've never had a high body fat level, but I've always been pretty neat when it comes to diet."

Dr. Demopoulos further explained: "Eastwood maintains a low-fat, high-protein diet. He also pays close attention to new cholesterol (his father, a man who loved meat and potatoes, died relatively young of cardiovascular disease)."

He avoids sugar and alcohol

According to the Health Fitness Revolution, Eastwood avoids added sugar whenever he can, and that most likely helped him maintain such good health even in the 90s.

"Stay away from carbohydrates, especially rich desserts. Keep your weight scale in the bathroom. Get enough rest. Try to be optimistic. Eat fruits and raw vegetables. Take vitamins. Skip drinks full of sugar. Avoid too much alcohol," says Eastwood.

He does not eat for pleasure

Although this is a radical rule that experts will not recommend to you, Clint Eastwood never eats for pleasure, as his son Scott confirmed in an interview. "My dad doesn't eat for pleasure," Scott told Men's Health. "He eats salmon and brown rice for breakfast. I guess I'm similar to him in that regard. If I could take a pill that gives me all the nutrients I need, I'd give up on food."

Although this principle works for the Eastwood family, experts would not recommend it. Enjoying food is healthy, and many of the longest-lived people in the world attribute their long and happy lives to just such an approach.
