Although one would say that it was unlikely to survive, the acting legend and his wife, who is almost five decades younger, celebrated the first decade of their marriage together.
Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke is even 96 years old, which would be enough of an achievement for most ordinary people, but he doesn't stop even in old age.
Opposite!
Van Dyke has long ago joined a group of men who do not care what anyone tells them, but even in their elderly years, they enjoy love and happiness with much younger wives.
The actor, singer, and dancer celebrated the first decade, ie the tenth anniversary of his marriage to his wife Arlene Silver, who is 46 years younger than him. As he himself recently admitted, he had only one concern when he married a much younger woman.
He was 86 years old at the time of the wedding, and his only fear was that people would think Arlene was marrying him just for the money. However, he admits that he has not received negative comments so far.
Van Dyke points out that Arlene is responsible for his health in recent years, as well as that she looks much younger because of her!
“We have the same attitude about life. She loves to sing and dance, we do that every day. It is a real refreshment in my life” - said Dick, and his wife responds with compliments: - “He is the most perfect creature, I have never met someone who is so happy, wonderful, dear...”
The couple actually met in 2005, and she was then working as a make-up artist at the SAG Awards. Arlene claims that Dick was attracted to her at first sight:
-“I remember seeing Dick at the table, he had a bow tie and a wide smile. Just as I was sitting in my seat, he suddenly appeared next to me and said to me: Hi, I'm Dick. The first thing I asked him was if he starred in Mary Poppins!“ Arlene said in one of the interviews.
Dick van Dyke has four children from his first marriage, which lasted from 1948 to 1984.
