A Detailed Guide To Planting Roses

Nature is waking up a lot and this time of year is ideal for planting roses.

Selection of seedlings

To begin, our interlocutor discusses how to select the best seedlings, or what criteria we should use when selecting rose varietals.

When purchasing roses, you select kinds based on your preferences, such as color and height, such as tea, multi-flowered, or climbing roses.

Tea trees are cut flower roses, with enormous, fragrant blossoms that endure a long time. You may either plant them singly or in a funnel, in which case they should be spaced 40 cm apart. Then there are the multi-flowered roses, sometimes known as bouquets or park roses, which are ideal for planting in a funnel, along the side of a walk, and so on. Most perennials are not particularly tall, with an average height of 50-70 cm, and their flowers are not as huge as those of a tea tree, measuring 6-8 cm on average, but they generate 7-8 or even more buds on a single stalk, flowering constantly until late fall.

They may grow to be over four meters tall. They must give some support, at the very least for the major branches that bear the bud heaps.

Miniature roses, which are commonly planted on terraces, planters, and the like, lying down (they cover the ground well or fall over the edges of planters), shrubs, which, as their name implies, form large shrubs, and English roses, which preserve the best features of those old gardens and intoxicate us with their scent, can also be added.

Planting until mid-April

Our interlocutor also reveals when roses are planted.

You may plant a rose from the early days of spring until around April 15, depending on the weather. Furthermore, roses can be planted in November if the weather permits - that is, if the ground is not frozen and the seedling can be placed properly.

Since now is the right time to plant roses, it is very important to know how to choose the right place, both in the yard and on the terrace.

The rose is a sun-loving plant that may be planted in the centre of the yard for all-day sun, as well as in less sunny regions. She need a location that receives at least four hours of sunlight every day. Water-retaining areas should, of course, be avoided.

And how should the land be prepared?

The process of preparing the land is straightforward. Dig canals to drain excess moisture if you have a problem with wet soil, and the rose, being a rose, is versatile and resistant to poor soil quality. Mix the current soil with humus or compost, which is available in many agricultural pharmacies, to increase the mineral content.
