John Travolta: 'I had to admit to my son that I could die tomorrow'

Actor  John Travolta,  66, lost his wife  Kelly Preston, who died at the age of 58 from breast cancer, almost a year ago. Her death’s death deeply affected Travolta’s family.

More than a year later, he recounted discussing the concept of dying with his 10-year-old son  Ben.

- He once told me 'because my mother died, I'm afraid you will too'. I explained to him that no one knows when they will leave or how long they will stay. I can die tomorrow. You can. Anyone - Travolta recounted in an interview with actor  Kevin Hart, reports the Daily Mail.

Travolta said his son always valued honesty and that’s why he didn’t avoid that conversation with him.

- We have to look at death as a part of life. No one knows anything for sure. You just do your best to live as long as possible - he said.

He mentioned that his son surprised him with a very mature outlook on life when they discussed what it meant for Travolta to be over sixty.

- He asked me if I remember the time 30 years ago and if it seems to me that it was a long time ago. When I said yes, he asked me if I thought I had another 30 years in me, to which I also said yes. Ben asked me what was wrong with that and so he completely changed my attitude about death - the star of the movie 'Pulp Fiction' admitted.

He confided to Hart that now, after the death of his wife and eldest son  Jett, who tragically passed away in 2009 at just 16, he is ‘living for his children’. He said that his daughter Ella Bleu  (21) has already found her way in life by becoming an actress, but that he still has to ensure a good life for the youngest Ben.
