Did you watch Amazon's series: "The Wheel of Time"?

Amazon's series "The Wheel of Time" completed its second season. This season has eight episodes. We assume that you know that it will be also the third season because it was announced back in 2022 at the San Diego Comic-Con, but you may have missed a little bit of what was revealed about the third season.

In an interview that was released after the second season ended, Rosamund Pike and Daniel Henney, who play Moiraine and Lan, hinted at what's to come in the yet-to-unfold story, including the addition of a lot of new characters. “We're all excited about everything that's happening in season three. We feel like we've established the rules of our world, we can explore them and push the boundaries, we can experiment more with the camera and we can try to get a visual language for these amazing concepts that Robert Jordan came up with.” Pike said.

Daniel Henney teased that the new season will be "massive", adding that there are "so many new cast members". “So yes, they're filming and we're very ambitious this season, with some big travel plans for the rest of the year for my character in particular and Moiraine's. So it will be in the same spirit. We want it to flow, be darker, in the same rhythm. It will be great.” If you saw the season 2 finale then you know what lies ahead for Lana and Moiraine.

Pike also confirmed that the director of the first season, Ciaran Donnelly, is returning for the purposes of the third season. “He created the visual language of Mina's visions, which I think was excellent. He also used this massive camera for the incredible Aiel battle, where we saw Rand's birth out in the cold, in the seventh episode of the first season. So he returned to create more amazing visual concepts and take us on the visual adventures of Season 3. We encourage all of our directors to let their imaginations run wild and really make something cinematic… the visuals for season three are going to be incredible.”

The series is a co-production between Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. The plot is based on the extensive and very popular literary series "The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan, which was adapted for television by executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins.

Considering that the second season roughly covered the second and third books of the series (The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn), Judkins confirmed that the third season will continue with the fourth book (The Shadow Rising). Judkins also revealed that the third season is even more sophisticated, richer, and deeper than the second season.

For now, it is not known when the third season of the series will arrive. It can be assumed that new episodes await us later next year or at the beginning of 2025.
