In April 1985, a gruesome double murder was discovered in Lynchburg, Virginia. Derek Haysom and his wife Nancy were slaughtered and their heads were almost severed from their bodies. A search was made for strangers who were wandering in that district, but it turned out that the killers were much closer than initially thought.

The crimes were first confessed to by Jens Söring, the boyfriend of Elizabeth Haysom, the daughter of the murdered married couple. It was established that the two of them planned the murders together, but when they got to the dock in the next year, it turned out that the case was not so simple.

18-year-old Jens claimed that he was to blame for everything, but the truth is, he had the consent of 22-year-old Elizabeth to kill her parents, but her participation stopped there. She was not involved more. Or maybe she was? He was sentenced to 90 years in prison, but that was not the end. In prison, he apparently changed his mind and began to claim that he was not guilty, and that complicated the whole case.

Since Elizabeth broke up with him in the meantime, his lawyers tried to put the blame on her, and that was not so difficult: the case was reported by all the American and occasionally the world media. For a reason, because something like that has never been encountered in criminal practice.

This is actually a documentary mini-series, in which famous stars (writer and lawyer John Grisham ) also appear. You will not regret it if you decide to watch it because each of the four episodes offers a twist that keeps you going until the end.
