How Noah Cyrus saved herself
Noah recalled the moment she was so high on drugs that she was unable to do an interview
The sister of pop star Miley Cyrus, Noah, was addicted to the drug Xanax, and in her confession, she revealed the struggle she faced.
She tried to get rid of her addiction in various ways, and speaking to "Rolling Stone" magazine, the younger sister of the singer said that she first started using this drug, an antidepressant, when she was eighteen years old. From then until now, at the age of 22, she has been through a lot.
“My boyfriend at the time, when I was 18 years old, was the first person to give me Xanax, and it became a way for us to bond” - said Noah, noting that she thought everyone used this type of medication.
“I think I just wanted to fit in with him. I thought it was cool that everyone was on anti-depressants. When I realized that this drug allows me to feel at ease and not be stressed, it was too late, I became addicted” - she said.
Noah recalled the moment she was so high on drugs that she was unable to do an interview that had been previously scheduled. “My head was falling, my eyes were closing, I couldn't speak well” - she said.

She says that in August 2020, her grandmother passed away, and she used Xanax all the time and could not be with her family. “It took me time to stop using Xanax and to get through the period of anxiety and depression that followed. Music helped me recover” - she concluded.
All of this inspired her to write the song "Lonely." “I felt trapped in that one place from which I could not get out. I just wanted out, I needed to talk because I couldn't take my body anymore. I couldn't shake the feeling of anxiety in my chest. I felt like I was going to explode. One day the manager called me and said he understood what I was going through and offered to help me. And then something changed in me, then it became clear to me that a person from my team understands how I feel” - said Noah in one of the interviews.
