Penelope Cruz is the star of the new film directed by Michael Mann, which will deal with the life of the legendary racing car driver Enzo Ferrari. The famous actress was first seen filming in the Italian city of Modena. Cruz plays Laura, Enzo's wife. Spouses, as is known, created the company Ferrari for luxury sports cars.
Enzo Ferrari is played by Adam Driver, replacing Hugh Jackman, who was originally slated for the role. Shailene Woodley will play Enzo's lover Lina Lardi, the mother of his second son Piero, who will later become the vice president of the company.
The action of the film takes place during the summer of 1957 when the former Ferrari racing car driver found himself in a crisis because the company he created from almost nothing with his wife Laura came to the brink of bankruptcy.
Their marriage is also in trouble due to the death of their only son, Dino. While at this crossroads, Enzo and his team of drivers decide to counter their losses by entering a historic race called the "Mille Miglia", which will take them a thousand kilometers across Italy.

Michael Mann, who has been working on this project for two decades, is also in charge of the script, and the film is based on Enzo Ferrari's book "The Enzo Ferrari Story" from 1991, "Daily Mail" reports.

Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898 in Modena, Italy. He was a racing driver, narrowly escaped death in World War I, built the most desirable racing car in the world, and was a successful entrepreneur, all of which he created with his own hands.
