The first trailer for King's adaptation of the story of the same name is out!
20th Century Studios and 21 Laps released the first trailer and poster for a new project: "The Boogeyman". "The Boogeyman" is a horror film based on the short story of the same name written by Stephen King. The story was originally published in 1973 in Cavalier magazine, before finding its place in the 1978 collection Night Shift. This story is told through the eyes of a psychiatrist who listens to a patient who claims to be the target of a supernatural creature. As the desperate man recounts, The Boogeyman terrorized his family and killed all his children, one by one. While every child's death can be explained by natural causes, the man is convinced that there is enough evidence that The Boogeyman is real. In the end, the psychiatrist asks the man to make an appointment for the next visit to therapy, but something else happens.
The film producer is Rob Savage (Host, Dashcam), and the script is signed by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place), Akela Cooper (Malignant) and Mark Heyman (Black Swan). The main roles are Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), David Dastmalchian (Dune, The Suicide Squad), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Madison Hu (Voyagers).
But this story has two sides. On the other side high school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are still dealing with their mother's death and aren't getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is trying to deal with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help everything changes. We are sure that this will be interesting for watching so we will patiently wait for the summer.
"The Boogeyman" arrives in theaters on June 2 .
