The new Netflix series - 1899
The first season has eight episodes!
The mysterious series "1899", from the creative team of the popular series "Dark", arrived on Netflix. The first reactions are mostly very positive. The first sounds of the intro in "1899" strike an eerie chord as if you've heard them before. And as the music continues, the song becomes clear: it's a twisted version of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" created by Ben Frost and Eliot Sumner.
The first season of the series "1899" is focused on the mysterious events of the voyage of an immigrant ship from Europe to New York. Travelers of different origins and nationalities are united in their hopes and dreams for a new century and future abroad. But when they discover another long-lost ship on the open sea, their journey unexpectedly becomes a nightmare. A web of secrets seems to connect each traveler's past.
The main stars are Emily Beecham (Cruella) as Maura Franklin, Andreas Pietschmann (Dark) as Eyk Larsen, Anton Lesser (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Alexandre Willaume (The Wheel of Time), Aneurin Barnard (Dunkirk), Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen (The Rain), Mathilde Ollivier (Overlord), Miguel Bernardeau (Elite), Richard Hope (Piece of Cake), Clara Rosager (Morbius) and Jonas Bloquet (Elle).
"If we put minor flaws aside, "1899" is a perfect and compelling historical mystery. There are numerous intrigues wrapped up in the events surrounding the missing ship, as well as a diverse cast of characters whose futures become intertwined in its reappearance. There's nothing like the series "1899" on TV right now.” Joe Lipsett concluded.
“ "1899" combines many genres to tell a story deeply rooted in the past, something most of the characters on the ship are trying to escape. The end result is a disturbing series that will be debated for years. As far as mysteries go, there aren't many as intricate as "1899".” Paul Dailly stated.
So, don't hesitate and watch this series!
