The trailer for the sequel to "Murder Mystery" is finally released. Four years after the first film, Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler return as Audrey and Nick. The first film achieved great success and was one of the most popular projects of 2019.
In the first film, New York police officer Nick and his wife Audrey went on vacation to Europe because they wanted to revive their marriage, but they ended up being accused of the death of a billionaire. After solving the mystery of death in that film, in the second part, Nick and Audrey open their own detective agency. They are ready to enjoy their friend Maharaja's (Adeel Akhtar) beautiful wedding on the island, but things quickly get messy.
After Maharaja is kidnapped, Nick and Audrey will head to Paris and again, they will be at the center of an international investigation. In the trailer, Sandler's character is seen explaining to the group that "they're all suspects," while later Jennifer's character says, "We're never going to be invited here again."
The film's cast includes Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, Kuhoo Verma, John Kani and Dany Boon. Netflix revealed that the first film was viewed in more than 30 million households in the first three days of its release so the sequel is expected to be a hit as well. "Murder Mystery" is scheduled to be released on March 31st.
Recall, In October 2019, it was announced that a sequel to "Murder Mystery" was in development with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston reprising their roles. In August 2021, Jeremy Garelick was hired as director, from a script by James Vanderbilt, with the filming of the sequel to take place in Paris and in the Caribbean. Sandler and Aniston had confirmed their returns during the September 2021 Tudum Global Fan Event.
