5 things you need to know about the amazing Michael Kors 40th anniversary fashion show!
Glamour and film premieres were the main inspiration of the American designer who marked the jubilee with this presentation of the collection. Here are 5 facts you need to know about this show.
1. Dressing up is cool again
If anyone knows how to show how to dress on the red carpet, it is definitely Mr. Kors. Theatrical and film premieres that the whole planet eagerly awaits to return were one of his main inspirations. A few sequins and rhinestones, gold and silver were the main trump cards of the American creator to show us how he sees the red carpet.
2. It all happened in the New York theater district
Although we still don't have the opportunity to see the shows as they used to be, Michael showed his jubilee line through a film shot in one of the most glamorous parts of the American fashion capital. Adut Akech and Naomi Campbell are just some of the names he hosted on his digital runway that was set up in the street next to the Shubert Theater.
3. The magic of QR codes
In the four decades that this fashion house has existed, Mr. Kors has shown everything that could be shown in someone's career. A sufficient number of pieces that we had the opportunity to see come to us from his archive, but they have only been reinterpreted in a modern way. Each such piece was marked with a QR code which, when viewed by the viewer, takes them to a site where they can read everything they are interested in about this garment.
4. The dominance of the evening dress
A year after COVID-19 took over our lives, we have all noticed that we miss going out and getting ready. We don't remember the last time we were at a party, and what's worse, we don't even remember the last time we got ready for a real straight night out. Bare feet, glittery materials, and bold prints are there to remind us that the time of going out will only return through the big door, and for that moment we must have an adequate wardrobe.
5. Are you vaccinated?
Since the global vaccination started, various fashion memes have appeared on social networks, suggesting what we should wear during the vaccination. Kors had his own vision of that piece. He presented a beige sweater with cut shoulders, and this sweater could not associate us with anything else, but that we still need to be vaccinated, and at the same time look perfect.
