Never use other people's tarot cards!

Fans of horror movies can excitedly wait for May because that's when the supernatural horror movie "Tarot", for which Sony released the first official trailer, arrives exclusively in theaters. The film was originally called "Horrorscope", after the novel of the same name by Nicholas Adams, on which the story indeed is based.

"When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings – never use someone else’s deck – they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards," reads an official synopsis for the movie. "One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings."

This movie seems like a teen horror movie, but the idea could at least permit a fun array of supernatural entities – several of which are detected in this first trailer.

What can we expect?

In this movie, we will have the opportunity to watch Harriet Slater, Avantika, and Jacob Batalon. The plot revolves around a group of college friends who find themselves in a race against death after breaking the sacred rule of reading tarot cards.
The directorial baton is jointly held by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, who also jointly wrote the screenplay. In addition to the aforementioned, the film also stars Adain Bradley, Humberly González, Olwen Fouéré, Larsen Thompson, and Wolfgang Novogratz.

The movie comes after A24 scored one of 2023's horror hits with "Talk to Me", which followed a group of teens who discover they can talk to spirits with the use of an embalmed hand they discover at a party. Similarly to "Tarot", the teens accidentally call evil spirits while playing a game with their hands and must confront the monsters in the real world.
The creepy horror film "Tarot" is scheduled to hit theaters on May 10 this year.
