The sci-fi series "Foundation" will get a third season!

Apple TV Plus has officially confirmed that their sci-fi series "Foundation" will get a third season. The third season order came three months after the second season ended its run in mid-September.

In the announcement for the new season, David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel), showrunner and executive producer of the series revealed a few details about what will be included in the third season, including what new characters to expect and who will be the main villain.

“I'm delighted that Apple has allowed us to continue Asim's pioneering galactic saga. This time, the stakes for the Foundation and the Empire are even higher as Mule takes center stage, along with fan favorites Bayta, Toran, Ebling, and Magnifica Giganticus.” David stated.

“We've all been incredibly impressed with the adaptation that David and the rest of this talented creative team and cast have brought to life in this cutting-edge sci-fi series from day one. Watching "The Foundation" become such a global hit has been beyond exciting with audiences around the world who continue to be captivated week after week by this dramatic and compelling journey. We can't wait for everyone to experience what's in store for old and new characters in season three." - said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV Plus.

Goyer also warned fans not to get too attached to the characters, as many of the new characters will likely only appear in one season. That was the case in seasons one and two, but on the other side, there's always the chance that some of them could stick around a long time. Several familiar characters could be seen again - Harry Seldon (Jared Harris) and Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell), the android Demerzel (Laura Byrne), and the all-new clones of the Empire: Dawn (Cassian Bilton). , Day (Lee Pace), and Dusk (Terrence Mann).

Although the series is based on the award-winning literary series of the same name by Isaac Asimov, it is still a rather free adaptation that turned the story into something completely different. Since its global debut on the Apple TV Plus platform, the series has been hailed as “visually stunning”, “beautiful” and “must-see TV”. The series continues to receive praise, with the second season even holding a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
