A film that will make you laugh and cry at the same time: "A Man Called Otto"

The movie " A Man Called Otto" is a screen adaptation of the acclaimed New York Times bestseller novel "A Man Called Ove"  by the popular Swedish author Fredrik Backman. The mentioned book has sold more than 3 million copies, and it is not surprising that Backman has a lot of fans everywhere which is also due to his other works.

According to the comments of the audience so far, as part of the selection of the actor for the role of Otto, it seems that a full hit has been achieved. Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks took on the task of embodying the demanding role of a grunt who spends his days enforcing order and rules in his neighborhood - from recycling to parking. The loss of his wife reduces his will to live more and more every day, but the arrival of a colorful young family in the neighborhood will turn things in a different direction.

The distinctive Mariana Treviño  ( Club the Cuervos ), who played Otto's newly married neighbor Marisol, left a very striking impression. The rest of the cast consisting of  Rachel Keller  ( Fargo, Legion, Tokyo Vice ) and  Manuel Garcia-Rulfo  ( Magnificent Seven, The Lincoln Lawyer) should definitely be mentioned. The screenplay, based on the book "A Man Called Ove", was written by David Magee, who already received nominations for the Oscar with the films "Life of Pi"   and "Dream of Life" by JM Barrie.

On the other hand, the director of the film is Marc Forster, who is best known for his films  "Monster's Ball", "Finding Neverland", "Quantum of Solace" and "World War Z.". However, the film has been showing in American theaters since mid-January and the reviews are more than positive. With a rating of 7.6 on IMDB and 69% Tomatometer and 97%  audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it satisfied even the most demanding critics with one word - irresistible.
