Angelina Jolie's mother was as beautiful as her, but her story was sad and difficult
The sad story of the wonderful Marcheline Bertrand, the actress who gave birth to the famous Angelina Jolie
Actress Angelina Jolie has been considered one of the most beautiful women in the world for many years. However, many do not even know how much she actually resembles her mother Marcheline Bertrand, and that she definitely inherited her beauty.
Marcheline would turn 70 this year, and she, like her famous daughter, also acted. However, she neglected her career, which was still on the rise, because she dedicated herself to her family and children.
At the age of only 20, she married Jon Voight on December 12, 1971. The beginning of the marriage did not bring her happiness, as well as later years, and she had two abortions before the first child she had. She first gave birth to a son, James Haven, and two years later to Angelina Jolie. Both children became actors. She realized that it was very difficult to reconcile a movie career and taking care of small children, so she decided to dedicate herself to her family.
Marceline and Voight divorced in 1976, and officially divorced in 1980, due to Voight's numerous frauds. She discovered that he had cheated on her with numerous women, so she filed for divorce. After the official divorce from Voight, she entered into a relationship with Billy Day. They lived together for 11 years but did not get married. Some of the lovers that marked her life were John Trudell and Tom Bessamra.
Towards the end of her life, Bertrand did not talk about her private life and did not give interviews. She has been battling ovarian cancer and breast cancer for almost eight years. She died in 2007. As Marcheline's mother and sister died of cancer, Angelina said of her mother that she assumed something similar would happen to her.
"My grandmother also died young, so my mother always thought it would happen to her," the actress revealed.
At the time of her mother's death, Angelina had three children. In 2008, Angelina and Brad Pitt had a daughter, Vivienne Marcheline Jolie Pitt, whom they named after her late grandmother.
