Apple could launch the new iPhone SE 2022
The release of the new iPhone SE 2022 has been anticipated for months and appears to be imminent. And it is that the most recent reports say that Apple will unveil its next low-cost phone in March, slightly sooner than planned, opening the way for the iPhone small to be phased out entirely in September.
As a result, the new iPhone SE will be the sole small iPhone in Apple's lineup, with the company already announcing that it will discontinue the 5.4-inch form factor when the iPhone 14 is released in the fall. However, one of the SE family's best features is its lower price point, which is much lower than the previous generation of the iPhone Mini, which costs 799 dollars and can be replaced for less than half the price.
Although some experts, such as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, estimate an even lower price, pointing to figures never seen in Apple of just $ 199. Obviously, this pricing might help Apple regain a foothold in this currently lost market share in its battle against Android devices, albeit an iPhone at this price would be a surprise.
According to reports, its screen will be between 5.7 and 6.1 inches in size, having an IPS display with a resolution equivalent to the iPhone Xr. The SoC will be a generation behind the most powerful at the present, bringing us to the Apple A14, the same chip found in the iPhone 12. The SoC is built in a 5nm process, contains a strong six-core CPU, and a quad-core Apple GPU.
It is also believed that at least two variants will be released, depending on the internal specifications, pointing to a base version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space. The camera arrangement should not be very different from what we saw in the iPhone SE 2020, implying that we may only expect minor advances in this area.
On the other hand, the emergence of a third model based on the speculated version of the iPhone SE without a Home button, with a FullView screen that occupies the entire front, is being explored. Although this third model could potentially be the 5G version.
