Britney Spears’ father: My conservatorship saved her, the public doesn't know everything

Britney Spears’ father: My conservatorship saved her, the public doesn't know everything

Jamie Spears, who recently stepped down from Britney’s conservatorship, claims that her struggles with addiction and mental health are far more serious than the people suspect, reports the Daily Mail.

"The public doesn't know everything, and they don't have the right to know, so no one will redeem themselves to Mr. Spears," Spears wrote in a submission to the Los Angeles County Supreme Court earlier this month, the media reported.

In the submission, Jamie added that since 2018, he had no control over Britney's medical decisions, including her admission to a mental institution in 2019. He claims that his only role in his daughter's treatment was to pay the bill.

"There is no doubt that conservatorship saved Ms. Spears from disaster, supported her when it was most needed, protected her and her reputation, and made it easier for her to renew her career," the singer's father added.

Namely, Jamie Spears recently agreed to step down from the long-standing role of conservator of his daughter Britney. In June, the singer said in court that conservatorship was abuse and that she "wants her life back."
