Chocolate porridge with banana
If you want to prepare unusual, but healthy and tasty breakfast, this is the recipe for you.
This gluten-free porridge is prepared without cereals and contains many healthy ingredients, and easily becomes vegan by using almond milk or soy milk. We didn’t add sugar to the porridge, as it gets its sweetness naturally from bananas and, of course, from chocolate. If you want an even sweeter porridge, you can also add a teaspoon of honey. Here is used flax flour, but if you don’t have it, you can finely grind the flax seeds yourself in a coffee grinder.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- a little milk (a couple of tablespoons, for blending)
- 1 teaspoon coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon flaxseed flour
- 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- a handful of almonds
For decoration:
- Melted dark chocolate
- Toasted coconut
- Blueberries and raspberries (frozen or fresh)
Preparation:
- In a blender, mix the banana with a little milk to get a thick smoothie.
- Put the smoothie in a bowl and heat gently.
- With constant stirring, add coconut flour, flaxseed flour, cocoa powder and almonds (whole or coarsely chopped).
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens like porridge.
- Pour the porridge into a serving bowl.
- Decorate with melted dark chocolate (or just stick a couple of chocolate cubes in the hot porridge, so it will melt on its own), toasted coconut,or fruit.
