Ed Sheeran: 'The birth of my daughter Lyra gave me back my love of music!'

A guest on "The Late Late Show", hosted by James Corden (42), Grammy winner Ed Sheeran (30) stressed that living with his daughter Lyra has introduced him to a healthier routine and revealed why he feels better than ever.

- Well, I became a dad and my lifestyle changed. Instead of going to bed at six in the morning, I get up at four, ”Sheeran said with a laugh.

The singer and his wife Cherry Seaborn,  29, welcomed their first child, daughter Lyra Antarctica, in August.

- It seems to me that this is how life should be. It is great. My days are structured - said the singer.

- I'm healthier than I've ever been. I exercise every day. I spend a lot of time at home making a new record. Everything is fine - Sheeran continued.

Little Lyra inspired Ed to pick up the guitar after a long time. The musician explained that he briefly gave up the guitar after the successful ‘Divide’ tour, with which he toured the world from 2017 to 2019.

- I didn't touch the guitar for months after the tour ended. I had a crisis of confidence, I wanted not to work, but then I realized that my work is actually a hobby. So I had to find other things for a hobby, and I haven't touched the guitar in years - Ed admitted, adding that it wasn't until Lyra was born that he started playing again.

- I was raised on traditional Irish folk music, so I teach Lyra that as well - he revealed that he does not sing classical lullabies to his daughter, but songs he listened to in his childhood.

- I would like to have more children, but I think that girls are far superior to boys - the singer admitted earlier.
